Hummingbirds

My family went on vacation to Phoenix, AZ recently, and I discovered that every morning these sweet little hummingbirds would hang out around the bushes and trees near our hotel room balcony. I have always loved hummingbirds and their beautiful coloring! I have learned that they consume more than their own weight in nectar each day; therefore they must visit hundreds of flowers daily. The wings of a typical hummingbird beat up to 80 times per second, making them extremely hard to photograph. Regardless of the challenge, I just love to photograph them. Here are a few of my favorite shots.
