A Very Special Homecoming

The events of today have left me humbled and proud and nearly speechless. I spent the day at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton photographing the homecoming of Major Ronald White Jr. He was deployed to Afghanistan several months ago, and his girls have been missing him terribly. It was such an emotional day for all of the families that were there welcoming their loved ones home, and I was so blessed to be a part of it. I have always had great respect for our servicemen and women, and their families; but today I witnessed a side of military life that not everyone gets to see. It had a profound effect on me. I can’t really put it into words, but I cherish every moment that I was able to spend with them today.

Welcome home, Ron! My heart is so full of gratitude for your service, and joy for your safe return.
